These Pie-traits Are Picture Perfect

Forget Princess Leia’s iconic hairstyle and fearless battle skills—in baker Jessica Leigh Clark-Bojin’s household, the character’s cherry flavor reigns superior. While many are still working to craft a flawless cake or cookie, Clark-Bojin has mastered a unique confection: “pie-traits.” Her edible portraits—complete with bold hues and intricate piping details—showcase renowned pop culture figures, including the Queen of Hearts, Oprah, Gal Gadot and more.

The baker’s strategy for producing the perfect pie is a science: it involves experimentation, engineering, graphic design, creativity and extensive knowledge of the entertainment industry. The striking accuracy of her treats has received global attention, most notably for the Princess Hand Pies. Clark-Bojin released a video of the process, where she bakes fruit-filled skirts, molds Disney princesses out of dough and finishes off with colorful glitter and sprinkles. Clark-Bojin has even constructed three-dimensional pie sculptures entitled “Piescrapers,” towering treats that appear more like dessert dioramas.

In addition to time spent in the kitchen, Clark-Bojin has appeared on ABC’s The Chew, launched a line of baking tools and published a cookbook. What’s next for the pie maestro? Time will only tell, for we’ve only seen a small slice of the her potential.
