Anais and Mirabelle Lee: A Dynamic Duo!

On Lip Sync Battle Shorties

Watch out world...these identical twins are about to take over the world. At just 10 years old, Anais and Mirabelle Lee have cemented themselves a career in the modeling, acting, and dance industries. Not to mention, they are huge YouTubers who love to share makeup tips with subscribers, and have over 279,000 followers on Instagram! The duo has performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, was featured in a variety of national commercials, and has done a myriad of modeling campaigns. One of their most recent jobs: walking the runway for premium children’s clothing brand Rookie USA! I was so excited to talk to these two cuties about all they have accomplished thus far and what the future may hold.

Walking the runway for Rookie USA

How did you get your start in the modeling and TV/film industries?

Pretty much by luck. We were in the park one day with our babysitter and a photographer came up to her and said that we were beautiful. He gave his card to her and said that he wanted to do a photoshoot with us for the children’s clothing company Llum. A few weeks later, my mom reached out to the photographer and we did our first photo shoot! We loved modeling so much, our mom sent some of the photos to New York modeling agencies and we got a response right away! After modeling for a year or two, we started auditioning for commercials, television shows, and movies. We landed a role in our first movie, Blood Ties, when we were only 5 years old!

How do people tell you two apart when they meet you, since you’re identical twins?

We honestly have no idea how to tell us apart! We think we look different but don’t really know how to tell us apart. We’re basically the same person because we have the same DNA and fingerprints, but our personalities are different.

What have been some of the highlights of your careers so far?

One of the biggest highlights of our career has been filming Nickelodeon’s Lip Sync Battle Shorties, filming Blood Ties, and walking the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. It was amazing being in last year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade dancing on the Sesame Street float with Hamilton star, Leslie Odom, Jr, as well. There have been so many amazing experiences from our career that we can’t even count! But filming the show Lip Sync Battle Shorties was definitely a dream come true! We met so many amazing people, got a super cool dressing room, and had the chance to perform on Nickelodeon!

Who are some of the coolest celebs you girls have worked with on set?

Zoe Saldana, Nick Cannon, Heidi Klum, Mila Kunis, Billy Crudup, Kevin Bacon, and a lot more! All of them were super nice to us and made being on set a lot of fun. When we were filming Blood Ties, Zoe acted like our mom!

In your opinion, what’s the hardest part of being an actress?

The hardest part is competing against each other or actor friends we’ve known for years. You never want to hurt their feelings if you get the part and they don’t, or if they get the part and we don’t. But we support each other and we’re proud of our friends’ success as well as each other. The second hardest thing is memorizing scripts. Sometimes our agent gives us four-page scripts to learn for the following day!

What do you think is the best and hardest part of modeling?

The hardest part of being a model is juggling school and being on set. The best part is meeting other models and becoming friends with them!

How would you describe your personal style? Do you dress similarly or different from one another?

Our style is exactly alike! We both love to wear trendy and sporty clothes. Some of our fave pieces to wear are ripped jeans, crop tops, cute sweatshirts, and chokers!

What’s your spring closet staple?

Definitely a jean jacket and a Zella Girl hoodie. We also couldn’t live without our tops or pants from Me.n.u.. Oh, and we love the glam tracksuits from Rich Girl Candy. Lastly, we can’t go wrong wearing cool Nike and Converse outfits from Rookie USA and Adidas sneakers.

Do you both like makeup?

We love wearing makeup! Sometimes when our friends are over, we have a competition for who can do the best makeup!

What are some of your favorite beauty products?

Some of our favorite products are the Milk Makeup Cooling Water Stick, Kylie Cosmetics’ Bronze Palette, Becca highlighter, and Kylie Cosmetics lipsticks. We love Dolce K, Candy K, and Koko K

What are your future plans?

We’re hoping that we can get our own show or a series-regular role on a TV show--that’s our dream! We’re definitely working on it and putting things in motion!
