Jenna Davis Juggles it All!

There’s nothing 15-year-old Jenna Davis can’t do. The Texas-city native has been dancing since age two, and her singing videos have racked up millions of views on YouTube as well. However, the teen is most well-known for her acting credits: In 2014, Davis acted in the short film And Happiness before getting her big break as fun-loving Sienna on Disney’s Raven’s Home. In 2018, she was cast as Monica--a member of dance team “Power Surge”--on Brat’s Chicken Girls alongside fellow influencers Annie LeBlanc, Hayden Summerall, Indiana Massara, and Mads Lewis. The same year, Davis also scored the role of Teri the Bear on Treehouse Detectives, an animated Netflix series. With a myriad credits from the entertainment industry under her belt, Davis seems to have all the tools necessary to become the next big superstar. Below, the actress recalls some of the most exciting moments of her career thus far.

When did you first discover your passion for acting?

I discovered my passion for acting when I was nine years old. That’s the year I was cast in my first lead role as Molly in the musical Annie.

What was the audition process like for Chicken Girls?

It was a direct booking.

Who were some of your closest friends on set?

I got along with everyone in the cast, both the Power Surge and Chicken Girls. I am never one to have favorites.

What was your favorite part about being on set?

Being able to act. It’s what I love. It was also fun playing a role where I can portray a character different than myself.

How has being on Raven’s Home changed your life?

I have always dreamed of being on the Disney Channel. This opportunity has taught me a lot about acting and the business overall. I have gotten to work with very inspirational people such as Raven Symone, Anneliese Van Der Pol, and Debbie Allen.

Did you feel any pressure going into Raven's Home knowing that That's So Raven was popular in the past?

No, I was really excited and anxious to work with the whole cast and crew!

How do you get into character on Raven's Home?

It may seem silly, but to get into character, I point my chin up high, roll my shoulders back, and envision my inner Sienna.

Any funny moments from being on set that you can share?

There are several because we have fun on set, but one that stands out was when we were filming the episode “New Dog Old Tricks.” My dog in the show, Mr. Manchebo, was a puppy in prior episodes, and I could carry him around everywhere. By the time this episode was filmed, he had grown so much that my weak arms could not hold him as planned. No matter how much I tried, I couldn’t make carry him, so we had to change things around.

How do your characters differ on Chicken Girls and Raven's Home in your opinion?

Sienna is a spunky friend of the Baxter’s who is very influential to others. Monica is still trying to find her way in Attaway.

What are your future plans?

I hope to continue to pursue a career in acting and in the entertainment industry.
